Tasting Notes
The Clos du Tourelles is a plot in the lower slopes around Gigondas, apparently the last remaining “Clos” of the village. Mainly Grenache with a bit Syrah and Mourvèdre, the 2021 is one of our favourite vintages here. Lifted on the nose and pretty open on the palate with all the requisite Mediterranean depth and intensity to support really good development. It spends 15-18 months in old foudré and is the only wine that sees a little whole bunch in the vinification. From a ten-hectare Clos of old-vine Grenache planted on sand and limestone soils. A blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre.
