A lovely nose of forest berries and red- and blackcurrants is accompanied by hints of gently smoky oak; on the palate the wine is very pure and smooth, with silky tannins and outstanding length of flavour. Such finesse and purity, allied with a precise structure and fine tannins, make this a great choice in 2006 and will most likely be one of the best values of the vintage.

Notes

Good dark, bright red. Aromas of currant, smoke, minerals, licorice and dried flowers. Suave on entry, then supple and sweet in the middle, with Pauillac-typical flavors of currant, iron, fresh herbs and tobacco leaf. An understated wine, dry but not austere. Today a peppery element shortens the wine’s finish.
