Tasting Notes
A neighbour of Sociando-Mallet, Charmail seriously over performs year on year, yet it remains remarkably affordable. Very dark ruby in colour, the 2003 has a lovely deep nose of blackcurrants and raspberry jus, with pepper, oak and minerals. Succulent, supple and very ripe on the palate, rich in blackberry and bramble fruit. Sweet yet fine tannins and powerful structure, leading to a refined finish. Powerful, long and very stylish.
