Beautiful fresh precision here, light on its feet but with Egly drive and a salty finish. Very fine mousse, with a sense of fine detail to the white fruited citrus scented freshly baked bread flavours. Delicious now but will age. A compelling release! Based around the 2019 vintage (50%) with 2018 (30%) and 2017 (20%) completing the blend. Equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. Disgorged in July 2023 with 1g dosage.

A new wine in the Egly range, the NV Brut Les Prémices is a Chardonnay/Pinot Noir/Meunier blend from Trigny, all 2016 vintage. Bright floral notes and the natural richness of Pinots come together nicely in this entry-level bottling. There is good energy, but naturally not quite the textural breadth of the top wines. Disgorged: July, 2020, with 36 months on the lees.
